At Cardinal Carter Academy
for the Arts, we are proud to offer a state of the art
multimedia program made possible through an investment
of almost 1 million dollars from the Federal Government,
private sector organizations and the school board.
Our facility houses about 100 multimedia workstations
and a full suite of digital imaging and editing facilities.
It includes broadcast video, audio and post production
facilities, digital imaging, a library of digital resources
on an optical server, and a 750-seat theatre used at
times as an electronic presentation center with a 70x20
foot screen. Our computer network utilizes an optical
fiber backbone and T1 connection to the Internet.
The nearly 750 full-time students enrolled at Cardinal
Carter Academy may choose courses in digital media studies
that include print and digital publishing, graphic design,
multimedia, videography, interactive media management,
web publishing and digital animation. Upon completion
of 5 credits in Multimedia / I.T., students will be
granted a Cyber-Arts Diploma.
Cardinal Carter Academy for
the Arts is the only Catholic high school with certified
Softimage teachers. Softimage, Adobe and Macromedia
products are only a few of the Business standard software
suites that we use in our school.
